Have just spent approximately... oh... how tedious it is to have to count time in units mortals comprehend... about one hundred thirty years of Continuum time, much of it spent in alternate universes.
q has figured out how to negate the gravitational constant. I don't know whether to be proud of him or annoyed that sticking him in a black hole is no longer an option.
I have done something terribly bad, tasteless and wrong for which I would have been sorely chastised by the Continuum if I hadn't WON THE WAR. But I did. So no one is complaining. Nyaah. Don't worry, my little pals, it was in a parallel universe and has no impact on your timeline. I think. So far, anyway.
(Actually, this is not entirely true. That no one is complaining, I mean. Many people are complaining but no one actually has the authority to do anything about it. Besides, it was an important experiment and we needed to know the results. Besides that entire parallel timeline warps the intellect. I wasn't in my right mind. It was totally irrational and spur of the moment and I shouldn't have done it, but my, it's going to be fun to see how it plays out. Not to mention how many of the Q I have managed to annoy by doing it. Including
amanda_the_q and my ex. Life is good sometimes.)

Date: 2003-09-20 12:44 am (UTC)Or was that another universe you screwed up, Uncle Q?
Omniscience. I need it. But I'd settle for omnipotence.
No no no.
Date: 2003-09-20 03:13 am (UTC)The experiment had to do with... well, let's just say there's a certain experiment I've been wanting to conduct ever since Kathy told me she wasn't willing to participate. (Actually, I can't keep all these universes straight. I didn't involve your Kathy in that, did I?)
So you're involved in this thing too, now? *Three* missing Tom Parises seems a remarkable coincidence. There may be some sort of quantum confluence. Although one of them's lost in the Delta Flyer and one of them's lost on Archer's Enterprise. (And by the way, Archer's security guard is even more fun than Worf.)
As for where your particular father is, that remains for me to know and you to figure out. But rest assured I had nothing to do with it.
And I've sworn off giving omnipotence to humans unless they were born that way, and half-human still counts. On the other hand you probably could work on those psionic abilities just a trifle harder.
Re: No no no.
Date: 2003-09-20 11:29 am (UTC)Besides, if I learned one thing from Mother, it was that telekenisis and telepathy are only good for one thing...making Tuvok's life a little more difficult.I'll take your word for it. For now.

Date: 2003-09-21 11:46 am (UTC)I quite clearly recall telling you I wouldn't mate with you, if that's what you're referring to. A few times, in fact. And in case you're wondering, my position on this matter still stands.
Archer's Enterprise.? Time travel gives me a headache. But if you had anything to do with the disappearance of the Delta Flyer with
Yes, you did.
Date: 2003-09-21 10:01 pm (UTC)You are, however, not the only Kathryn Janeway in the multiverse. (In fact you've *met* at least one of the others, or talked to her at any rate, before her ship blew up and she sent you a random Harry Kim and Naomi Wildman to replace the ones you'd lost.)
And no, I had nothing to do with the disappearance of the Delta Flyer... if I cared I might investigate why three Tom Paris' have disappeared more or less simultaneously in three different universes, but the truth is, I simply don't care enough to find out.

Date: 2003-09-22 04:00 am (UTC)Oh dear. Are you implying--on second thought, never mind.
I had nothing to do with the disappearance of the Delta Flyer.
I didn't think you did, but as you know, I believe in covering all bases.

Date: 2003-09-22 04:22 pm (UTC)Have you so little faith in yourself, Kathy? :-)
Be of good cheer. None of them wanted to bear my child. (Well, none of the ones I actually asked, anyway. There may be timelines where that did happen, but they'd be alternates of me as well as of you, and generally I find it annoying to have to deal with alternates of me. They're always so insufferably smug.)
I will say, however, that some of them have much better taste than you do, even if they didn't want to be the mother of a god.

Well, there's a Harry Kim on my Voyager.
Please don't let him ask for details. But maybe I want him to ask for details. I miss my Harry...oddly enough. No, substitutes aren't nice. He just looks like my Harry. He isn't. Shut up, Linnis. He's my father's

I hope my Harry hasn't managed to die again yet.Perhaps we'll speak again, Ensign.
I probably shouldn't mention that my Harry made Lieutenant.no subject

Three missing Tom...?!
He's my father's best friend.
Linnis Paris... Yes, now that I think about it, I seem to recall Kes mentioning something about a Linnis after the bio-temporal chamber incident.
And it never occured to you to tell me?!
Wait! Whoa! Hold the phone! Kes?! And me?! And you...?!
B'Elanna, if you're reading this, I can assure you, I was not involved with Kes while we were together...uh...meet me in my Quarters?

I believe you. Kes left Voyager before you and I became an official item. And even so, I was aware you had feelings for her before, but didn't act on them because of

Date: 2003-09-29 02:50 pm (UTC)That's good news. I thought you might see red with news like that, even if it isn't our universe's events, it's still a reflection on 'What If' in ours.
But I am curious about this linnis_paris. Are you sure you don't have children roaming either the AQ or DQ I should be aware of? Not quite sure I'm step-mother material.
Believe me, not even in the BQ or the GQ. I was reckless in my past, I'll say that much, but not that reckless.
I wouldn't mind having a word or two myself. Especially on what happened in their universe that made me choose to be Kes' partner!
Hoo boy, the week gets better and better...

No pressure's good, and to be honest I'm thinking the same way at the moment, on the fatherhood topic I mean.

Date: 2003-09-29 04:57 pm (UTC)Good to hear it. I don't think Voyager is the right place to raise a family (though Sam Wildman is doing an excellent job with Naomi). If indeed, we were thinking of something more long-term...

Oh, believe me, Jean-Luc.
Date: 2003-09-22 04:17 pm (UTC)Well, to be fair, that's probably underestimating myself. If I tried very hard, I could probably do something to make matters worse. But the universe in question... let's just say that when I made a random appearance on a starship captain's ship, his reaction was rather more "Oh, no, not another uninvited extradimensional guest" than any actual trepidation. I am absolutely sure that if I randomly dropped an entire group of people from that universe into the plot of The Seven Samurai, complete with period costumes, they would initially assume that this was business as usual and probably caused by the reality fluctuations they're already experiencing.
In fact that might be fun to do. But not right now.
If my experiment works well it will have an impact on the Continuum, which is largely the reason my own people are somewhat annoyed with me. If it doesn't work... well, then a strange thing will occur in a universe so full of strange things that people no longer bat an eye at time travelers randonly showing up on their starships for no particularly good reason.
