A little thingy I forgot to mention.
Mar. 18th, 2003 11:53 pmSo here I was, bored out of my mind, with no one showing up on this adorable little retro network except for Kira Nerys, who, you gotta understand, is mind-numbingly dull. "Today Ezri Dax and I ate lunch." "Today I gave Quark a stern talking-to." "Today I engaged myself in all the mind-numbing little trivialities it takes to run a space station while moping that my great Emissary wasn't here to do it for me anymore." It's enough to put me to sleep, and I don't sleep.
And then I noticed something that amused me greatly. See, Kathy and her stalwart band of followers had already installed a similar system to this, back their way. Of course, their way being in the Delta Quadrant, it wasn't as if they were going to be having conversations with the folks back home anytime soon. And I'm pretty sure that if I had installed an account on *their* system that half-Klingon wench would be constantly trying to rip it out, and while my omnipotence has no limits my patience most certainly does.
So, I, hmm, how to put this... I've set up a bridge between the two systems. The Voyager livejournals can now communicate with the Federation livejournals as if they were on the same servers.
See, Kathy? Don't say I never did anything nice for you.
Of course, you can't hack the bridge to try to transmit anything *else.* It will only accept entries from your livejournal system. Because I know my staid and true Kathy would NEVER want to CHEAT by accepting help with her communications home from a Q. Want to do it all yourself, isn't that what you said? Meaning you want to do it all without help from me but if you have to have sex with *different* aliens to get the technology you need to get home you'll be just peachy with that, since they're not me? Not that I'm bitter, or anything. I'm totally over you.
Anyway. So, Voyager folks can write home, but *only* via livejournals. Won't this be fun?
Off to try to persuade Jean-Luc to open up one of these things--
